Shaping up for Ramadan!

Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

I hope you are well.

The beautiful month of Ramadan is fast approaching, bringing about a lot of goodness and forgiveness for us all, insha’Allah(SWT).

Ramadan is a month which can change a person’s life completely, if used correctly. It grants every single one of us the ability to REALLY look within ourselves to see whether or not what is within us is good enough in front of Allah(SWT). Many times we “look” within ourselves and may think nothing is wrong.

If you think that, something is definitely wrong! Insha’Allah when you look within, you should really nit-pick at all of your deeds and analyse them thoroughly.

A small deed can be your passport to Jannah but it can also be your passport to Jahannam.

Many of us don’t take the time to do so, thus becoming blind to the disease at our cores(our hearts). Upon sitting down and reflecting properly, truly allowing your mind to focus on your heart, will you then, insha’Allah(SWT), be able to see where things are not as good as they could be.

I recently did just this, looking and analysing the way my heart changed over a period of time and thinking hard about what could be contributing to it. The results were where I didn’t think they would be: in the television. (I’m not saying that television is haraam. I’m saying that personally my imaan and my heart were affected negatively by it.)
The heart controls the body, as Abu Mussab Wajdi Akkari says in his beautiful lecture.
After listening to the lecture, I was inspired to write this post. Alhumdulillah!

May Allah(SWT) grant us the ability to fully and completely prepare for Ramadan, mentally, physically and spiritually. Insha’Allah(SWT) ameen.

JazakAllahu khairan.

Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

  1. The benefits of the month of fasting are too many to be counted. If one does recognize them and realize their importance, he wishes to have the month of Ramadan to be throughout the whole year.
    Nice post

    • Subhana’Allah. So very true. May we be amongst those who understand and take heed of the beauty of this blessed month. Insha’Allah ameen. JazakAllahu khairan.
